Word from The Well

According to the Bible, there are only four responses to Jesus. Every

rejection of Him, every position towards Him, every response to receive Him; they can all be found somewhere in Jesus’s parable of the sower. Where are

Naaman was facing an incurable disease. He needed healed of leprosy. God

provided Naaman with a clear answer, promising that Naaman would be healed if he would only trust and obey. Yet, Naaman refused God’s answer for his own healing. Why? What is it about God’s ways that we as people are so quick to refuse? It’s not that they are hard. It’s not that God’s commands to us are unclear. It’s that His commands don’t make sense to us. That’s why we reject God’s answers When we don’t understand the reason behind God’s answer, we become like Naaman. We think, “Yes. God said to go and dip in the Jordan... but why?” And in our doubt and question of God’s Word, we reject God’s unmistakable, clear commands that lead to our healing. In John chapter 8, we see a mob and a woman who were all guilty of

being trapped in their own sins. Yet, one word from Jesus would change everything for everyone on that day. What can we learn about ourselves when we look at the woman caught in the act of adultery? What can we learn about ourselves when we look at the angry mob? What can we learn about ourselves when consider the Lord’s words to everyone there? Jairus was at the absolute most difficult moment of his life.

His daughter was dying and there was nothing he could do to help her. As a

last resort, he goes after Jesus. On one hand, this tragedy was the worst

thing that Jairus had ever faced. On the other hand, this tragedy would

become the greatest opportunity that Jairus had ever had – It was this
